Minister of Foreign Affairs, Linas Linkevičius, during his working visit to Kiev on 20 June, had a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko. The Minister expressed unwavering support to Ukrainian independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and condemned Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Linas Linkevičius, took part in a solemn meeting of the Senate of Vytautas Magnus University on 20 June where President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, who was paying a visit to Lithuania, received the academic regalia of Honorary Doctor of Vytautas Magnus University.
“It is regrettable that Belarus seeks to legitimise the project of the Ostrovets Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) through the means of public relations rather than strengthening the nuclear safety. It goes without saying that the stress tests report must comply with the methodology of the European Union. However, this is just a form matching. We need to talk about the content, the assessment provided for in the report, as well as the recommendations, which will have to be implemented,” said the Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius commenting the information distributed by the Interfax news agency that the stress tests of the Ostrovets NPP meet the European safety requirements.

On 7 June, Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius accepted a girls' basketball team from Colombia visiting Lithuania. The basketball players have been staying in Lithuania for two weeks, since they participate in the sports diplomacy initiative carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, to which Lithuania also contributes.
