On 1 June, the Ambassador of Lithuania Ramūnas Davidonis presented his letters of credence to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Sheikh Salem Abdulla Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

On 23 May, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised an annual trip for heads of foreign diplomatic missions residing in Lithuania.

Combatting circumvention of the EU sanctions is a common mission of the EU Member States, especially of those who are at the forefront of sanctions implementation at the border with Russia. In order to facilitate co-operation further, the Border States, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and EFTA member state Norway, met in Helsinki on 15-17 May.

On 1-12 May, Lithuania actively participated in the 43rd Session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group (UPR). During the session, Lithuania provided recommendations to 11 states under review. Namely to France, Tonga, Romania, Burundi, the Bahamas, Luxembourg, Barbados, Montenegro, the United Arab Emirates, Liechtenstein, and Serbia.

The Report on the human rights violations in Belarus under the Moscow Mechanism presented at the Permanent Council of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on 11 May 2023, confirmed that Belarusian regime aims to control the society and suppress all critical voices, including those opposing Belarus’ complicity in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.

The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and Latvia are pleased to announce the call for nominations for the annual Balts’ Award.

On 4 May, the Lithuanian-UAE Business Forum was held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), during which the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (LPPARA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry on the establishment of a joint Lithuanian-UAE Business Council.

On 4 May, the Report under the Moscow Mechanism on violations and abuses of international humanitarian and human rights law, war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the forcible transfer and/or deportation of Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation was presented at the Permanent Council of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). 

On 27 April, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and the Polish Embassy in Vilnius organised a seminar to enhance the cooperation of the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) countries on energy security.

On 27 April, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Jovita Neliupšienė met with the Head of the Romanian Prime Minister’s Chancellery, National Coordinator of the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) Mircea Abrudean. At the meeting, the representative of Romania presented the 3SI vision and priorities and informed about preparations for the Summit and Business Forum, which will take place in Bucharest on 6-7 September.
