On 9 February 1923 Paraguay recognized Lithuania de jure.
Diplomatic relations were established in 1931.
Diplomatic relations were re-established on 3 March 1993.
2012-2013 Raul Florentin Antola served as the first Ambassador of Paraguay to Lithuania (resided in Germany).
