HEAD OF THE CTBTO SECRETARIAT UNDERLINES THE NEED TO BELIEVE IN THE WORLD WITHOUT NUCLEAR TESTS

Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the UN, ambassador Raimonda Murmokaitė met with Dr. Lassino Zerbo, Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).
Ambassador congratulated Mr. Zerbo on his election and noted that his first days at the helm of the Organization where already marked by the decision of People's Republic of China to join the rest of Permanent Members of the Security Council in providing data from the CTBTO’s monitoring stations in China to the International Data Centre. Ambassador Murmokaitė also underlined that the EU actively promotes the Treaty both financially and through demarches for ratification and universalisation.
