LITHUANIA ACCEEDS TO THE CONVENTION ON REGISTRATION OF OBJECTS LAUNCHED INTO OUTER SPACE

On 8 March in New York, the Permanent Representative of Lithuania deposited with the UN Secretary General instrument of accession to the Convention on Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Space.

This Convention is one of four UN Outer Space Treaties to which Lithuania has acceded in order to promote international cooperation in the use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

It is planned that the first Lithuanian satellite will be launched in 2013.
