Lithuania establishes diplomatic relations with the Republic of Liberia
On 23 April, in New York, H.E. Ms. Raimonda Murmokaitė, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the United Nations, and H.E. Ms. Marjon V. Kamara, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Liberia to the United Nations, signed the Joint Communiqué on the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Liberia.
The establishment of diplomatic relations will contribute to the strengthening and promotion of bilateral relations.
Lithuania contributes to the peacekeeping efforts in Liberia by participating in the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL).
The Republic of Liberia is the 178th state with which Lithuania has established the diplomatic relations.
