LITHUANIA JOINED THE GROUP OF FRIENDS FOR WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY
On 4 May 2012, Lithuania joined the Group of Friends of Women, Peace and Security - a coalition of like-minded states, representatives of UN agencies and NGOs who discuss priorities for implementation of and build momentum for UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.
A long term advocate of increasing women involvement in internationa peace and security, Lithuania adopted the national Action Plan for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on 28 December 2011.
