LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER VISITS UNITED NATIONS IN NEW YORK
On 19-21 March, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis paid a visit to New York. The Minister presented Lithuania’s aspirations for the UN, including the candidature of Lithuania to the post of the President of the 67th session of UN General Assembly and to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2014-2015.
During his visit, Ažubalis held meetings with representatives of various countries to the United Nations and heads of regional organizations to discuss the priorities and achievements of Lithuania’s multilateral policy, perspectives and directions for cooperation in the United Nations, important issues of global policy and the role of the UN in tackling a range of crises.
